A lot of my motivation for stuff used to be to make my wife happy. She was always glad to see a neatly cut lawn or the sticks in the yard picked up. It was not my thing and something I put off until asked. The first few times I did yard work it seemed like I had an anchor tied to me and I had tears in my eyes most of the time. Now I just keep repeating
"I'm doing this for me ". It actually seems to help. Anyone else tried this?

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

Being selfish has never been my thing. But now I think have to consontrate (can't spell anymore), on me. have to take care of myself, as well as everything else.....Gotta keep up, keeping up!!!!
It is very hard to keep in mind and to accept that it is now just me. Adjusting is a hard thing to do when you don't want to adjust to just being me. I want it to be for the both of us, but it is just me. But I keep things the way WE liked them, but I know I have to focus more on me. As I was told by a social worker, the focus is on myself now. I have to think about what I want. But this is a hard thing to do when my life was dedicated to my wife, I wanted to please her more than my own needs.

I have changed in 2 years 9 months to doing things my way for me and realizing ITS MY WAY here now. My house is not always picked up and neat (clean well somedays not so great) but I can go outside work my horses, mess with my yard - set the sprinklers my way (we never agreed on that) put the rocks in the garden my way bla bla bla
Than once I am done I am tired but feels good. With 5 acres the house gets a day of work when before it was something done daily.
I think its a stepping stone to realize YOU did it your way.
