I thought about where my husband went too since he wasn't much of a believer or a church goer, although he did seem to have some sense of the spiritual. So I hoped the chaplain at the hospital had helped him make his peace with God. He requested the chaplain come be with him before surgery. Well a few days after he died, just as I was waking up, my husband appeared to me. It was just a glimpse but I got a good look. He looked great. He had all his hair and teeth, his skin glowed with health and he was grinning. My daughter had the same thing happen so I am taking that as he is ok. Haven't seen him or felt him since, but that one time was so vivid, it was enough for me.

I believe most of us have various options to answer your question and most have struggled with it after losing someone special. Since our beliefs vary I would seek counsel from the leader of your faith of choice.

I have had dreams of him mostly griefstricken ones. But one shortly after he passed he was wearing the same clothes looking radiant & sticking his cheek out for a kiss with a grin.
When my Mom passed my sisters & I dreamed of her at the foot of our beds. I wish we could know. I have read about every life after death book I could.& Found a lot of comfort in many stories.I know various faiths have differing beliefs on what happens & where we go. I sure hope we get to reunite with those we love someday

I have had what I believe are signs from my husband. I have felt his presence, smelled his scent, and a couple of times his picture just 'came up' on my phone...I have also felt the sensation of someone playing with my hair and touching my arm.
I did have a priest deliver last rites a couple weeks before my husband passed...as a Christian, just remember the John 3:16 and you will know where your husband is. And if you want to 'safely' create and partake of discussions from a Christian or spiritual perspective,there is a group called widows and widowers of faith.

Thank you Wendy, I talked to our priest & pastor.& I am of strong faith. I suppose if we could see more than glimpses we may not want to continue our path. At first I was frustrated because everyone was having dreams of my Jeff but me. My daughter dreamed of him sitting at the foot of my bed the day after he passed she was sleeping by me & got up to find a warm spot that looked as it he has been sitting right at the foot of my bed. I dreamed he was at a tunnel and I was holding him saying don't leave & started down with him she woke me because I was gasping & crying.For the first few wks I only slept a few hrs & woke shaking & crying.I wanted so bad to wake up & discover it had all been just a bad dream

About 10 days after he passed a young grey & white Tiger stripped cat ran to me meowing while I was sitting outside one morning. This cat sat on my lap & hugged me with both his paws around my neck. I petted him & gave him some food.My son came out & got snuggled & hugged.That night my son told me "Mom that cat is begging & demanding to come in" I said I will think about it if he is there in the morning I will let him stay.In the morning I went outside & no cat I thought good I don't need another cat I had one grieving with me who was old & cranky we took him in because his owner died a yr before. As I sipped my coffee he came running across my yard purring & begging for love. I named him Tiger & he has been a Godsend he cheered & rallied my other cat they are like brothers & he brings me much joy & compfort.I believe God sends us blessings in our time of need.I am so thankful for every compfort from this pain

Maetigger--My wife loves cats. She has one named Simba. The very next day after my wife's funeral, I could not get up from bed due to sadness and exhaustion, Simba jumped on my bed kissing me. He slept in my bed for several weeks until I felt better. I take it a sign of my wife trying to comfort me.
