you're going thru the grief process, dont fight it-get help from someone who's been thru it too. I'm sure there qare brevement groups around there, join one and go to sessions. After a while you'll learn to deal with the pain. you'll never forget it you have to learn to live with it. Good luck

I have that problem every night.. He died in our bed and I see the image and remeber that night every night.. I tried not sleeping in there but oddly I sleep better in there once I get the crying out of the way.. Wierd how life works..

My husband also died in our bed. And for the longest time, whenever I walked in there I could see him, but it's been 1 1/2 yrs and those images are fading. They do fade, and because you are grieving they are just so vivid right now, and raw, I agree with "gunny", a berevement group, or a singles social group can help...NOT a dating group, but just a social group, to get out and do an activity, something that interests you. Are you getting any counseling? My husband died in my arms, and I relived that horrible scenario over and over until I got counseling and was able to express the fear, upset, anger, etc. Recently, I have been finally able to go back through our old photos and that has helped reaffirm the good memories and push out the bad. I had similar problems when my dad died years ago - envisioning the hospital bed, the pain, etc., but after a time the good memories did come back and outweighed the bad. It is hard, and in a way you have to consciously fight back against it. Every time that a bad memory creeps in, try remembering some funny time - this is a two-edged sword, I know that, because it will make you miss him, but at some point you become grateful that you did have the good times and can cherish those memories. It ain't easy! Hugs.

James, my husband also died on our bed. I see that memory 24/7. Really bothers me because he was always the life of the party, you know the type?...always surrounded by family & friends & laughing.
That's not the memory of him burned in my head now. I too want to remember the happy times. Here's a suggestion that I got from "saige"...a dear friend I met on here. She suggessted that I make a memory book of him. I'm gonna make a big photo album of him & the kids are gonna put thier 2 cents in. They're gonna write down some of thier fondest memories of him with them. In between pages of pics of his life, etc, I will put in their handwritten joyful times. Think about it...I'm hoping that it takes that awful last picture in my head away. Good luck.... Love, Jeanne

I too get them all the time. Anytime of day or even before I go to bed I see and remember things that were some of the hardest times we went through and when he died in the hospital with me, and our girls by his side. I try to think of things that made us happy, things we did together and stuff we laughed at. We are still grieving and it's a day to day, sometimes moment to moment. Remember we remember things like that because in a nut shell, seeing someone struggle to live, to survive, or seeing them die is traumatic. We all here have been traumatized unfortunitely. I hope I can help you along as we all help eachother.

My husband died in the computer room of our home and I also relive that monent, it is a little eaiser for me for the fact that i sold our home and was able to buy a home of my own in a different state.
You loved your partner very much and its is hard to grief and go on but it is something we do , I think that your partner would want you to go on
