I haven't posted for a while but have been nearly everyday. I used to return many times each day. I guess I am spending more time living.
I passed the 6 month mark. (I refuse to call it an anniversary. The word connotes celebration to me.) I spent lots of time that week in memories, reflection and introspection. The gaping whole he left is not and will not be filled, but the ragged edges are not as raw. I find myself smiling at memories of our time.
I have not returned to "normal", if normal is what was. I have started to think about the future, of places I want to visit, things I want to do. Even 6 weeks ago that would have been impossible. I can actually maintain a conversation without talking about or even thinking about our past or my loss. I choose to think this is growth. Not progress, just me growing into who I will be.
I even have started teaching baking classes. AND I ENJOY IT! I still draw on the strength, support and wisdom of all of you here at DS and credit this site for any growth I have experienced. Thank you to all you dear people for holding me up when I could not stand on my own. I know this journey we are all on will on will not end until we leave this earth, but you all have made it easier.
This sounds like I'm not going to be coming here anymore, but I will still be coming here for a long time. {{{Grateful hugs}}} ~ Bailey ~
