Dealing with reality

It has been a little over 3 months since my DH passed away of cancer. I have been doing fairly well as we have a 18 month old daughter to take care of. It seems that this week I have been going down hill. I have cried just like I did when he passed away. My little one is doing more and more things and I get depressed because he is not here with me to see this, we had tried for over 5yrs to have her and with IVF it happened. He was such a great father, husband and friend. I just find it hard to do the things that I was doing not but a week ago. I have not slept well sinces his passing but now I am not sleeping at all half the time. My work is suffering and I get so angry with others over nothing. I know that my DH is watching over us and would not want me to be this way, but I can not fight these feelings. I live for my daughter as she needs me, but at night when everone is asleep I loss it and can not stop my mind from thinking back 2 the day he left. He loved me so much and would have given the world to me and our daughter. God has a GREAT angel up there.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know this is very hard for you but dont fight those feelings. You have to cry and face it to get through it. Maybe you can try counseling to help get you through. You have been through a very difficult time in your life allow yourself to grieve. Try to pamper yourself too. I know with a baby that can be hard but maybe you can have someone watch her just so you can have a nice long soak in the tub and a good cry. Take care of yourself, Hugs, Lori

Oh Michelle, I'm so sorry for your loss. It must be awful with a young child that he loves so much. I lost my husband two years ago and this site has been such a wonderful place to talk to people that understands what we are going through. I sincerely hope it can be the same for you.
For me it was like walking through a tunnel, cold dark and so frightening. We fall down, pick ourself up and fall down again. If you need an ear to listen or a shoulder to lean on I'm here. Sharon

Michelle, this is such a hard thing to go through I am very sorry for the loss of your husband! Being the mother of a young child and having to go through this too is just so hard. I hope that you have family and close friends that you can lean on, you will need them. I lost my husband 19 1/2 months ago in a car accident. I have 2 older children, it is hard trying to be the strong one and help them too. The energy it takes to grieve and the energy it takes to raise a small child has to be far more difficult. My prayers are with you. This site has been a big support for me, I hope that you will find the same from it. Sending you hugs.

Hello Michelle, I am really sorry for your loss. Today my youngest daughter performed in a school concert and I really had to fight back the tears so that she wouldn't see me cry thinking how much my husband would have liked to be there. He would have taken tons of pictures! Having young kids makes the grieving process harder, I think, because we have so little time to think about anything but them, and we can't help feeling tired; but they are also what make us go on.
