Daughter's grief

My daughter and her dad had an up and down relationship like all dads and daughters. Her teen years the worst, and later in life, they got closer. She's going through a rough spot right now. She just left a 14 year relationship and is on her own for the first time in her life. She has 4 boys, from 12 to 7, so her plate if very full.

She posted this video today on Facebook. You think you are doing OK, and then you watch this, and it all comes back to you. I know if you have an adult daughter, you can relate to this.

I'm not a great fan of Ozzy, but this video is great.

My daughter is feeling a lot of grief too. She tends to try to hold it in. Yesterday she finally started to talk a little about it. I was so proud of her.

What powerful words in this song.!!! My heart is hurting for her loss of her dad and her relationship.....
Your right her plate is very full with her 4 boys.....hopefully they will help her through this terrible time in her life, as I am sure you will also....wishing you all the best.......hugs

I have two adult daughters, so I can totally relate, especially since my MIke was an Ozzy fan and I can see this video touching their hearts. Thanks for posting this and reminding me that my daughters are grieving too. Peace to you and your daughter's heart.

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this, as I have never heard it before.

And for reminding us just how badly our children hurt too and to not forget that. EVER.

My daughter has been wonderful. She misses her Dad so much. This weekend she said to me, "Everyone asks me how you're doing Mom. But you're the only one who ever acknowledges that I lost my Dad." I felt so badly for her. Having never lost a parent, I've never been in her place. Your video is beautiful.
Let's keep our daughters and sons in our prayers. Hugs

My step-daughter is getting better. It's been two years, so she is adapting to a new way of life. The pain of losing her dad is still there, but it is not as raw as it once was.

I lost my mom in 1999. We were close so I lost my best friend as well. It was hard at first, but as the years pass it gets easier. One thing I noticed about losing my husband is that it is harder. I think it's because we spend most of our lives mentally preparing for the day our parents depart, but not so with a husband.

My husband and our daughter were very close until she became a teenager. Those years are hard on everyone but with dad in law enforcement he had no middle ground he would tolerate. She made it through (and me, I will add) to adulthood and they became exceptional friends. It was hard on her when he died, she felt she didn't know her father until they came together as adults. My daughter posted the same thing on her wall today as well and tagged me in it. she shares everything with me. sometimes I wish she wouldn't, but she does. Already dealing with my own deamons this weekend. made the tears flow more. I know how much she misses her Dad, so I deal with it. Hugs: donna
