First, does homeowners insurance cover the electircal line isue? Since it was the result of damages from a storm it is worth looking into.
Second, go onto Craigslist and find the ad. Make your daughter show it to you. Print it out and take it to the police....do not get mad...just try to show them that she was honeslty there to buy a phone. It sounds as if she is young...you need to make her understand the dangers of allowing anyone into her car...especially a stranger.
Also found out story is a little different - she went with her boyfriend to buy the phone. They were parked in a 7-11 parking lot. After she bought the phone the police came over. It was her boyfriend who had not drugs but a drug paraphenalia object in his pocket - which looking online is worse than having drugs on you. My dtr didn't know he had it. I still have to get my car back. She keeps saying "it wasn't my fault" - meanwhile - has he or his parents called to apologize or offer to pay for this? No.

Actually the person who wrote it could have been worse - yeah it sure could have. When my dtr first called she said "you're going to kill me" and I thought she'd crashed the car. Considering I just took the comprehension/collision off the car last week I would have killed her - but car is fine. Her boyfriend had a "pipe" - no drugs - which he admitted and she did not know about. They had no permission or right to search the car - they were coming out of the 7/11 with icees when the police pulled into the lot. It was a nightmare - took 8 hours to get my car back and close to $1500 because I had to change the title from my husband's name to mine.
So this morning I look at the news on line and see there was a very bad car accident last night (one car crash) at 3 am very close to my house in a rather residential area. Three teenagers/young adults were killed and a fourth is in critical condition. They have not released the names yet but with kids of my own who are 17, 22 and 24 I'm thinking it is likely one of my kids will know them.
This was a shot of reality. Maybe I should be on meds to help not allow the "smaller" things in life to drive to to the point of insanity.
