I posted this lengthy reply to Meg's topic (package) but it was so interesting a story, I wanted to share it with all. mystery is sometimes a nice respite from pain alone!

this didn't happen to me but to an acquaintance/ friend (favorite cashier at our local supermarket). Her husband died a month before my John drowned but we (John & I) only knew of it a week or so before John's own death, when we questioned why we hadn't seen her. And she was never aware John drowned until months later when she returned to work from her leave of absence, since then we have become sisters in sorrow. Still maintain our isolation but never the less have the knowing bond of sorrow.
The day her husband died, she had kissed him goodbye late one morning (they were newlyweds - only been married a year), went to run some errands for her mom intending to return home in an hour, but not expecting to find him there, as he was scheduled to go to work himself. She returned, was surprised to see his car, went in & called for him, no answer. Went into the bedroom and found him slumped between the bed stand and the bed, dead from a killer heart attack or stroke (something that took him "before he hit the floor" she was told).
His body was taken to the coroner, as by law it must have, and all the other ceremonies (funeral, cremation, burial, what have you)were carried out. Life, sad as it was/ is, marches on.
About 6 months ago, I saw Adrienne at the market & she pulled me aside and said she needed to tell me something. She said she received a call from the Coroners Office asking her when she could come there and pick up an article that belonged to her husband. She replied, "what do you mean, I already have his belongings, it was just the tee shirt and shorts he was wearing when he was taken from the house, and I got those back from you already over a year ago", they said they had something else, but they couldn't give her any information (as it was sealed in an envelope and they were just relaying the message to her anyway). For the life of her she couldn't imagine what it was - his wallet wasn't sent with him, she didn't recall there was anything in any of his work out pants pockets, after all, he was getting ready to get in the shower the morning he died, to go to work.
Well she went to the Coroners office, retrieved the envelope, and in it found a picture of them on their first date after they had confirmed their new found love for each other!
Adrienne is not "religious" but is certainly been made to be more inquisitive about spirit, as we all do or become, especially after death, and this was just beyond anything she could explain. She was afraid to tell many - her therapist in particular - because she knew they would think her crazy. But she really couldn't explain how this picture came forward from the Coroner's office, months later. Neither could I; could just say 'spirit works in mysterious ways'
I'm also thinking maybe this was her husbands way, now only in spirit, of guiding her towards a less biased approach to "religion" or at least "spirit" and the eternal hereafter. And of course I am in awe, even while being a little envious.

I still maintain that Chad is hiding a remote from me, I had to buy a replacement. I told someone in his family and asked her not to think I'm crazy, and she said OMG trust me, put a glass of water on top of the fridge and you will find it! I'm going to try it, why not... I'm curious to see where he would hide it after all!!
My husband and I belonged to no organized religion we just believed if you are a good loving, generous person you'll end up where you belong. He hated hypocrites, as he found many so called religious people to be. He was the most honest, generous loving person I knew.
Since my wife went home I have prayed everyday that I could receive some kinds of message from her. A few weeks ago I did. She came to me one afternoon as I slept. The visit immediately took away my deep depression and grief. I was instantly filled with hope for the future. When she appeared to me she looked the very same she did when we started going out together. I was thirty five, she was thirty one. Her health issues where no longer a problem. Her eyes were clearer than I have seen them in several years. Her voice was young and strong. She moved around the room without any problem at all, not using her cane or limping. She had the most beautiful smile I have ever seen. Before she could finish what she came to tell me some loud noise woke me up. But I noticed when I woke up the shock of her not being there didn't floor me like it had been doing for months. I was energized with having seen her for just that few moments.
They are there in spiritual form. There is another dimension, Heaven, and it's our home. They are alive in their new bodies, no pain or suffering.
I believe what Carla wrote is true about children seem to have a closer connection than adults. I believe this because children are innocent and more trusting than most adults and can be touched in ways adults shut out because they refuse to believe the obvious.
It is written we have to be as a child to see the Kingdom of God.
I hope no one is offended by what I wrote because it is only my belief and we all have free will to believe what we wish to. And my world view is not something I ever push onto anyone else.
Take care.
Peace, TIm
Peace, Gail
I know that's NOT always EASY to do especially in light of how much pain each one of us is in.
I am a firm believer in spirit and have had many visits from them since I was a child. Sometimes I have to ask them to "go away" because they interrupt my thoughts and always want to meddle. I know this sounds pretty close to lunacy but it's true.
I'm so glad that there are shows on TV now about the spirit world and people who are mediums. I wish they were more known when I was a child. It would have saved me a lot of embarrassment within my peers and family members.
