When my husband first passed in Feb 2015, I was so desperate to see how he was doing "on the other side" that I went to a workshop with a Medium and so I could get a reading. I went in with some questions, and the Medium answered them all, in what I felt was very authentic.
The kind folks on this site did not judge me at all for doing this, because they all understood the heart wrenching desire of wanting to talk to our spouse one more time...I myself felt it was a weird thing to do, because I had never for a moment wanted to communicate with the dead before my dear husband perished.
Since then I came across a book that gives some practical ways to communicate with those on the other side. If you don't fancy or believe in that type of thing, fine. JUST IGNORE. Don't need to hear about it.

Also, in this book, Martin mentioned the book by a Pulitzer Prize winning poet, "The Changing Light of Sandover." It is 560 pages of channeled messages from beyond (or Heaven or the Other Side, however one wants to think of it). They just transcribed what they heard from beyond, so that looks interesting to me. Amazon!
Since Marc passed, I'm a little more interested in reading about Near Death experiences, to see what he went through...The Buddhists and Jews also have teachings on the afterlife, and I'm finding that interesting too.
In the meantime, I am moving forward with my life here on earth tho!

I'm not saying that they are all fraudulent, but we must be vigilant as scammers come in various forms. Sharon
My grandmother, who truly was psychic, said things were not so easy. That they came in flashes and almost tactile sensations. Like images out of the corner of your eye. And her visions were often things that she did not want to see. She had no control over when, how or who she would see.
In the end, I agree with Sharon. We connect with them through our continuing love of them and our memories. My Baba used to say "While I remember, those I love never truly die. They smile at me from Heaven."

I think her heart was in the right place in sharing . . as she has a right to do. Not preaching . . simply sharing.
This is reminiscent of problems we've seen in the past with religion debates. I would hate to see this discussion evolve into something similar.
We all have a right to our respective beliefs. Keep it simple and sweet. No need to debate here.
