Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I'll wait until I receive their card, then I will write a short note on the card I'm sending to them letting them know what happened.
Hugs,

deal with, but it did include them, and seemed gentler than putting
the information in a greeting card they would have been happily anticipating reading "to catch up."
When people would call who didn't know and I had to tell them, their reaction was too much for me to bear. It's been 20 months and when I have to say the words, I have to take a breath because it's so hard to hear.
I loved being Morey's wife, belonging to him and him to me!
Where do we go from here?

be substituted but only if you don't check out anything to read, referee a game, or buy groceries to cook!! Nothing productive should happen on your break!

As for those that aren't aware of your loved one's passing . . . I continually come across this not just via mail but in my small town streets . . . The greeting comes and then it's . . "How's Jim, haven't seen him in a while." Hurts to say time and again, "well he's dead". Has been for eight months. My thoughts . . . where were you and didn't your read the Obits or talk to other members of our small town community??
It continue to amaze me how isolated we are in our own little worlds, albeit even a small town, that folks don't step outside of their comfort zone to address another's loss.
Sadness abounds as do unmindful people. Perhaps this wasn't an appropriate response to this post . . . just sharing and venting.
Thanks Julie for giving me the outlet to respond. Hugs to all, D
I can't be certain of this, but you think I might be just a little touchy????
Maybe I'll just stop opening the mail for a few days!!
