Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Of course, even being active and while you are doing things, any external trigger can take you back into sadness. However, being social will supply your mind and emotions with something new, and this is important in replenishing that void we all know all so well.
Glad you making efforts.

it is like that. And will probally be for a long time to come. It's just normal and human when we miss our spouse/partner so much. and that's ok. I heard someone say recently when asked "How do you get over this"? The answer was "If you could forget all about them, then it would be a lot easier, but then we don't want to forget anything about them. So there we go.
You sound as if you doing great. Keep on putting 1 foot in front of the other and be easy on yourself. Hope you have a good day, Lu
When I drove past where he worked and retired from, I cried. Even when the leaves turned colors the Fall after he died, I cried. I wanted him here, with me. Songs, smells, places all bring on the memories we treasure and we are sad.
The good news is the day comes when those memories bring a smile of gratitude instead of tears and that is called healing. It's a place inside you that is covered, buried under storms of feelings like sadness, anger, guilt, resentment, and loneliness. Like an onion, we peel away the layers of emotions and inside we find a person who is stronger than we ever imagined and capable of being whole just the way we are. Hope this helps. Sharon
