Today I went out to go to my second job and the lock was frozen. Got it open in a short time - But it reminded me of something I hadn't remembered for a long time - it occurred soon after my husband died and a month before I joined this site.

I work a second job - promoting dog food on weekends. I don't really like the job during "good" times so after hubby died the last thing I wanted to do was greet happy couples with doggies in a pet store. My real job (teacher) had given me a couple of weeks off - so I had some time away from that.

I kept saying over and over "I don't want to go" - probably said it 50 times - but felt that I had to. So about 1 week after he died I reluctantly went to the car - got in - tried to start it - and nothing happened. Tried over and over. Happily came in the house and called and said I couldn't go in to work that weekend. My son who knows a little about cars spent over an hour trying to determine what was wrong. Came in and said "it's definitely not the battery but I can't figure out what it is". That's unusual - he typically has some idea.

The next day (Sunday) I figured I'd be without a car and planned to call a tow truck on Monday. Figured I'd try the car one last time - guess what - car started immediately. We never did determine what was wrong. My son couldn't understand it - he said he'd tried everything. I'd like to think it was hubby helping me out. He hated to see me work so much.
