My wife cycled off most of commercial mailing lists after 6-9 months. If you have a home and put the home in your name, that probably will make a difference.
This is a different perspective, but i like getting mail with my wife's name. I guess it seems like it is keeping her name alive. Sometimes i will send mail-orders to the house in her name and celebrate her when the package arrives. Ok, maybe i am a little loony.
After losing a spouse, every little reminder that they aren't here any longer becomes a thorn in our side--even if it's a piece of mail for them.
I hope the daily routine of collecting your mail becomes less hurtful as other things begin to take on a greater meaning in your life. TJ
The one that REALLY got me though was our dentist office sending a reminder that it was time for his cleaning and check up... It wouldn't have been an issue, except that I had called 2 weeks prior to notify them of his death..
