I haven't posted in awhile. I want to tell everyone what is going on. I want no pity or sympathy. Sorry but prayers mean little to me lately as my faith has been shaken. I was a cancer survivor. Found out today it is back. Prognosis is fair at best. My point here is to say. We may have lost our soulmates, love of our lives or what ever the feeling is. But we are alive and need to act like it. Don't bitch about not being invited to a social event or your old friends don't call,\. Get out and live. Have some fun. Please do not have a self imposed pity party. my son is going into CHP academy in Oct and I think I may go to Disneyland before that as I will be caring for his 2 and 3 year olds. My 6 children and 8 grand children do not know about my recent health issues. I will tell them tonight. Just live. Love everyone, John.

John thank you for a message we do need to hear. I truly want to send prayers your way but at the very least I wish you all the best. P.S My sister has been fighting a brain tumor for 2 years and so fair succeeding but living each moment is exactly how she lives her life. Thank you for posting.

That news really sucks, John.
Disneyland - great idea! I agree, take every opportunity. I'm so glad my husband and I didn't put things off until we retired, as we never got there - but we did have an extraordinary time in the twelve years we had.

John, you are a hero to your children and grandchildren, I'm sure.

I hope you go to Disneyland and find yourself smiling and laughing until it hurts.

You will have the support of your wonderful family and don't forget to keep us in the loop of how your health is doing along the way.

John . . . you are absolutely right and thanks for the gentle reminder to "live"!! It's so easy to take life for granted (especially our own). I'm saddened to hear your news and must admit it certainly changes our perspective on the important things in life. My mom had cancer and after it's remission she was changed as I'm sure you are. I understand your faith being shaken too. Losing my husband sure made me reexamine mine. Thankfully it is now stronger than ever. Be strong, my friend. Sharon

The message you share is an important part of all of our lives that we forget. "don't be so busy making a living that you forget to make a life" that was my story and I regret every bit of it. My mom has lung cancer and it is in remission at this point. I know many survivors. Know that we are all thinking of you and sending strength.

John Those words prognosis fair at best.....I am sorry to hear those words so find those team of specialists like cancer care center of America (in Seattle we have similar with a whole set of drs get together) and tell them forget the fair and lets get longest prognosis. Just cause one said it keep the fight.
