My very best friend lost her husband when he was just 62 to a rare brain desease. It will be four years next month. I feel guilty that I didn't know how much pain she was in, until now. We have been best friends since we were 15. So here we both are, back to the beginning, before we met our soul mates, before children, before everything. Does God have a reason for this? My husband and hers shared the same birthday, different years, but ironic. She is retireing next month. And as I am self employed (ha ha) we have decided we are going to take a trip. Have been talking about it for a few weeks. But how pathetic, we haven't been able to figure out where to go. When you live in the middle of Nebraska it takes quite the journey to get anywhere. I do not want to go east. Unless we don't travel on the interstate. Too many trips with my husband to the va. 22 trips in fact in 2012. So we finally decided last night to head to Denver toward the end of July. She's not really a fan of the mountains, but would like to see Estes Park. My husband and I went several times and our daughter was married there. She wants to see the Stanley Hotel. And I know she will love the serenity. We haven't chosen the exact date yet. And we both really think we will just head west and see what we want to see with no itinerary. No time restrictions, no definate plans, just go with the flow. I have decided that this crying jag I have been going through is ok. It's painful, and agony, but I don't care anymore. In fact don't care about much, just taking it one day at a time. I figure if I had loved him less I would be crying less. So just bring the tears on!!!
