I made my first trip without him. I was so errors and emotional that I didn't pack until an hour before I left. I had arranged for all the couples we were seeing to meet yesterday evening and to have dinner together. Everyone was there except my Big Swede and one of the guys that was ill.
It was wonderful. These people were our closest friend for 40 years (my husbands closest friends for 60 years.) It was so good to be in that circle of love and memories. We laughed, told stories, a d she'd some tears. My sweet grandson was there to support me and keep me company at tge hotel. We had lunch with our friends before we left today and while we were lunching it started snowing like crazy. When we came out to leave we encountered high winds, wet snow and 28. Absolute blizzard conditions. And like a fool I headed home. Luckily we ran out of.after about 60 miles. And was I ever glad! My hands actually ached front gripping the wheel!
Bottom line. . . It was a great trip. I rediscovered my inner strength and courage. I also heard my Big Swede whispering in my ear tge whole trip, telling me how proud he was that I had taken the step to go and that I had done just fine on the icy roads. Thank you all for the encouragement. You are the very best. {{{ Hugs }}} ~ Bailey ~
