Hi I’m Ruth - Don’t know if any of you remember me. This group was so helpful after my husband died over 2 years ago. After the format changed I got frustrated and stopped posting. Anyway for those of you who are in the beginning of this journey, I want to tell you that you can be happy again. You will never forget or get over your “person” but you are still on this earth to live your life! The first year is brutal but bit by bit you will find yourself again. Everything will be different but that’s okay!!! He or she would want you to be happy. Don’t forget that!

Thank you for sharing that message Ruth. It will be 14 weeks on Friday since my beautiful Jennifer passed away:-(I still cry everyday and can hardly stand going through the motions of Life on some days. I do know that Jennifer would want me to carry on and find happiness again since I am only 50 years old and she was only 50 when she died after an 8 and 1/2 year Journey with multiple myeloma. I still talk out loud to Jennifer Daly and most of the house remains as it was the day she died as far as her belongings are concerned. Thanks again forgiving me some hope...

Ruth, Very well said. The new folks need all the encouragement we can offer. I will always be grateful for the support I received in my bereavement group. It's right to pass on our experience and to let them know that life becomes much kinder with each baby step.
