First of all, smashing your car is one of the last things any of us needs these days. And it does seem like a horrible week for us as DS.

( btw, I apologize for my id for this site - it's from a video game and I thought I'd be the only one seeing it, lol )

That red cone in the dark was not very effective. I would think that they should be required to rope of an area around it to prevent what happened to you from happening. That does not help, I know. Hopefully insurance will cover most of it.

As I messaged Losvegasgirl, my basement flooded ( actually the sewer backed up ) on four different times over the years ( finally solved the problem by losing a tree by the drain in the front yard ). But each time it was a horrible mess because the basement is finished. Each time we had to have the carpet replaced, walls sanitized, Yatta, Yatta - misery for a month or more.

But after a while things were back to normal. It's just getting over the inertia that you have to spend the energy to fix everything. And energy is what we don't have a lot of these days.

Ouch, I can feel you, I had my first accident in 20 years folowing my husbands passing. Not fun, even though my damage was small. the other car got more. But at very slow spead I had misjudged my space to park after having avoided a van that just started backing up with out looking on a crowded neighborhood sale. So with not much room, he backed at me I backed up beeping my horn so he knew I was behind him. He stopped and then went forward down the street. I had backed just a bit to far to pull into the space and caught the car next to me.
This week the cold has kept me in and safe for the most part only going to my last classes. My car need some mechanical things done, but I need to find new people to do them, that I trust.

I can relate to all of you. I've had my plumbing problems and the other day I traveled downstate from here. 300 miles round trip. Got lost because I could tell I needed air in my tires. My two back tires have slow leaks. Pulled up to an air pump and now they charge 1.00 for air so I pulled my plugs off my tires first before inserting my money. Then I discovered their air hose was broken. I left that station leaving my plugs on the ground. Went back and found one of them. Stopped at another station off the expressway and filled both back tires up. They were both down to 20. My girlfriend and I decided to stay on that road to get to our destination. We went about 50 miles out of our way and I kept saying, there has to be a good reason for this. We were to meet her aunt and uncle at a restaurant and it was way too late for that so we went to their new home, being directed by them on phone. It was such a blessing to both of us. They are very spiritual people and have been through many trials and have had many miracles which they shared with us that day and they wanted to pray with and for us. I just looked at my friend and said, "i told you there was a good reason for getting lost". On the way home we had to put air in tires twice more. Next day I went in to get my tires checked and an oil change. I had a nail in one tire and rim leaks in both. The guy said, you know, I have a car just like yours and in the trunk is your own air compressor and I will show you. I was so blessed by this I couldnt believe it! Bless all of you. We will all get through all of our glitches along the way. Shiloah

Yes, I know what you mean. Some times I wonder if they are magnified because of the loss we try to navigate or if it's a more profound reason we feel this way. Sharon
