Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Peace to you

EXACTING IN REQUIREMENTS AND STANDARDS; PLEASING; APPROPRIATE; SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE; VIRTUOUS; RESPECTABLE; POLITE; KIND.
Let's let this shoe fit us. Be nice, everyone, please and thank you.
I do not think the long biblical posts belong here. If I needed that I would go to my church. When I see them I just pass them by but I understand that others may need that and that is ok for them and I am happy they found something useful for THEM.
I am sad that the DS board has been taken over by this tug of war game. We are getting nothing done that is productive. This is the ONE thing I look foward to doing each day. I agree lets return to a nice place we all can enjoy. The posts I wish to read I will that ones I don't I will ignore. Being of legal age that seems like the grown up and appropriate way to handle this.
I had planned never to come back to the sight but I have changed my mind. This place is very good for my soul and I need all of you!!
Lets end it and not loose anyone.
If you don't like my post why don't you send me a message on how I could improve rather than what we are currently doing. I think we all would agree these no ending posts are getting us nowhere and are counterproductive to what we all seem to want to do.

And when people ask in a respectful manner if they would discontinue they get sarcastic remarks, indirectly harassed in other posts in the name of standing by the vulgarity as way to grieve or the persons are behaving childish.
I do not judge but I will not sit idle and watch. To me that is like watching a thief steal because, oh well, he is hungry.
Really, it is beyond my comprehension to look at it that way. I don't know of anyone who talks with such vulgarity except those who hide behind a computer screen and keyboard.
To compare vulgarity and religious posts, is well not a moot point to me....that is like comparing water and oil. I tolerate all religions, all philosophy..but not when it is used to covert obscenities.
From my reads I find the 'few people' referred to being 'whiners' is actually the majority and there is a vast majority who prefers not to read or even have that content here. Those who remain silent, fearing to be isolated are really the majority.
For me, how I came to read this controversial posts since it is a topic about the using the ignore button. I do use it, but when it is the author it does not hide it. I do not know who posts unless I clicked 'view all' who the author is. If my feature is broke, please fix it. I unfortunately did not this time click 'view all.'' I read on because I wanted to see if this type of posts are still being contributed to this group. I am an adult. I make my own decisions, I was amazed and not in a good way to see they are. I wrote of my disappointed.
I think we need to reread the TOS and let that be your guide if values, morals can not be. I know we all have different ones, but society as a whole does not accept vulgarity. Words, body parts used as nouns yes but to use verbs and adjectives to describe sexual body parts is not. And to warn and place disclaimers about a post then a person openly, admits... knows they are being offensive. So why post?
My words are written without malice, anger it is to add to the discussion of what is appropriate.
Peace and comfort to everyone.
I lost my husband on May 20, 2009. He went into cardiac arrest, and it was sudden, no symptoms. When I found this site, it felt as if a life preserver was thrown to me. Here, people understood the pain, the fear and lonliness I was experiencing. I learned what the 'new normal' was, and how to go forward without my beloved husband.
To me, it is important to look at our similarities and not just our differences, for that is the thread that binds us all together here. It is our glue.
Even after 3 years, I am still subjected to intense moments of pain, and loss without my husband. Often, I come here just to read, and find myself feeling better.

Sal has been nothing but supportive to me since I joined this site and I am beyond sad that he has left this site because of the lack of compassion of some of the members here. Makes me think twice about being a part of this as well. I'm bummed by all of this.
