Another first & it went well

My son from Boise took me to Olive Garden, where we were supposed to go for my last birthday April 9th but my husband planned a surprise birthday party for me. The last time I was there was with Roger, I enjoyed myself & was not upset at this first. My 21 month old Grandson kept me busy & my son & DIL, daughter & fiancee w/Granddaughter kept me going I did not even flicker one moment of sadness there. Once I realized that I just shrugged & kept going on with their fun presences.
It made me feel good...a little sad but mostly good

I'm so glad! I remember the first time I went back to our favorite restaurant... I had really dreaded it.

My MIL suggested we go and I dont' think she even thought about it. I walked in, mentioned to my son that it was the first time I'd been there and he suggested we go somewhere else. I stuck it out, just like you did, and it was perfectly fine.

You have a great birthday.... that was my husband's birthday as well!

i have yet to go to my hubbys favorite (Ponderosa) . I thought about it a couple times, but did not feel i could get through it so i avoided it.

Going to our favorite restaurant was one of the things I put off the longest, afraid I would break down and cry my eyes out. Instead, I invited a girl friend to go with me and we sat in Joe's & my fav booth and ordered my usual meal. My friend is a lovely lady and I truly enjoyed it all. Good luck to you in getting out to "those places" that have such deep and wonderful memories!
