Brian passed before our little boys 4th birthday. I am already dreading it. :( Hugs to you sweetness.

I had to do the same thing yesterday for my father in law, his birthday is today. Rusty always got him cards and gifts, it was strange signing my name with the kids and not having his there. Hugs to you and your family

This is something so real to ALL of us. Signing just my name without Morey's.......Something I've been doing for well over 40 years and now to not see his name.....or, when something comes in the mail addressed to only me.

When the bills come in with my name ONLY, it's like a punch in the gut!!!!

It's been 3 years and I still can't get used to it!

Hate it my Wife did all the cards she wrote down beautiful things and had such a nice handwriting, my handwriting sucks and I never know what to write.

Our older son's birthday was only 4 weeks after Cliff died, and I hated trying to find a card from just me - it was always "from both of us". It hurt. My younger son's birthday, Mother's Day, our wedding anniversary, and my son's graduation were all within a few days of the 6-month mark. I don't know how the hell I made it through that month....

I am sorry you hit this first, too. I hope you and your son can find something special to do together. Friends made dinner for us because I was too much of a wreck to handle even that, and I always baked a cake, etc. I just couldn't cope.

Wow do I know this feeling. This year I couldn't do it. I stood in the card isle and cried. And this is year 3. Like Martha said so many cards say from us. Damn I miss being an "us"
