Well,my husband has been gone a year after a 5 year battle with cancer.Ive moved to a new city to be near family but my days and nights are lonley. The dating sites are a joke. What are we supposed to do with ourselves when you become half of something?

Such a difficult subject. I think this part might be the most surprising of all for me. I recall telling my husband I adore you but when it comes to sex I just really don't feel it anymore. No reflection on him, he was always good and attentive, but I just wasn't in the mood most of the time. I go off an antidepressant (had been taking for 24 years) and now I feel like a teenager. Thinking about "it" so often now. I am angry about it too. I mean all those years of the once or twice a month. So not fair!

Its that feeling of the two connected, it creates that passion, or that two as one feeling deep in the soul. It;s ok to want/desire intimacy. It's normal, to want that closeness. Its been 3 years since my husband passed. I am in a dating relationship with someone who has been my bestfriend for almost 20 years, weird, but nice. Hes also my girls god dad, and has been since they were born, and I enjoy our time, rather its just sitting there,traveling, doing projects together or even being intimate. It will never be the same, but when you love someone, that love leads into that type of connection. At this point, Im ok with a lifetime partner. I had my true love with my husband, but have discovered there is room in my heart to love another. Its hard to believe I would be saying this, but our husbands/wives that are now in heaven (or wherever you believe in your souul your loved one is) would want us to feel and give love again, regardless at what level... even if it meant at a friendship lever etc.. much love and big hugs carla
