I agree with you, you were one of the first members that were there for me when I first posted and couldn`t even breathe. I will never forget how you and many others here gave me the support and advice I needed to get through those first few months and continue to be there for all of us as we make our way through the most difficult challenge of our lives.

You are so right...the kindness of "strangers" is shown here at DS everyday and it's a blessing to me in my new stage of life. I joined after becoming a widow in July 2011...just didn't want to keep crying in front of my family, friends and neighbors. So the DS site gives us a chance to shed some tears at 3 A.M., if we need to share our sadness with others in the same boat. I'm always very sorry and offer much sympathy to every member who has lost their beloved spouse. Blessings and (((HUGS))) to all, Nancy

I so agree with you. I get more support here than I do from any of my friends and family. I guess it takes this life experience to fully understand this kind of loss. We here really GET it !

So right. Only place in the world for such support. Not friends, family or even church has ears like DS. Only thing we can do to show our thanks to the others is to " pas it on".

That's why I am still here after 4 years I have made so many friends who listen and care.

You are so right. This on line group has been the only support I have been able to find yet and it really has helped me a lot. It is amazing that everyone cares so much for everyone else. I have and do greatly appreciate the people I have met here. Thank you for this positive thought and observation! :)

AMAZING is the perfect word to describe all of the people I have encountered here at DS.

I have no idea where i would be today without each and every one of you!

Yes...amazing.

A group of strangers who have met during one of the most painful and REAL moments in our lives. Like survivors bobbing around in a sea of grief on one of those yellow rubber lifeboats...that is how I see us. The ones who have been on the journey the longest helping guide the way for those in the middle...who, themselves...are extending a hand to the ones who have just fallen overboard.

We are survivors...

Well said. I know when I first came on in September 2010 I was lost and in total despair. If not for so many here I would not have made it this far. Thank you all DS friends for the many unselfish gifts of compassion over the last year. We are ALL going to make it.

We are amazing..............and we are family................if you ever get a chance to go to a GTG......do it.................meeting in person is the best.................am sorry I can't make the OH one in a couple of weeks but hope we have one soon somewhere...............am in WI and will travel after I get moved in ...............

I did not find this site until 2 yrs. down the road. However, it has been a Godsend for me. No one understands like the friends here. Unless they've walked in our shoes, others really don't understand no matter how hard they want to. I found that the feelings I had were "normal" and that I was not crazy. I have also learned that we are all stronger than we think we are and will make it. DS has been an important part in going down this road. I have recommended this site to 2 friends who have become widows after me. Thank you all for being here. Take care, Sandra
