This past week, my emotions have been all over the map, which I am learning is "par for the course".
I repaired a bit of damage to the garage roof (with help from my son) just a small area where a limb had hit it. But... while on the roof, I realized that all of the shingles are very brittle and cracking.... That roof was replaced in 2008, and we paid a little extra for 35-year shingles... So, I am VERY upset. On top of that, it dawned on me today that we also replaced the roof on the house at the same time... with the same damn shingles. Certainly does not help my mood.
I have been taking care of my grandkids... age 2 and 1 for the past 5 days and I am worn out. It is truly just too much on me right now. I love them so very much, but I cannot fall back into the situation of having the oldest one practically living with me like she did before Shane died. I am just not up for that without him beside me. Tonight... they have all gone home, and my daughter and her bf went to a late movie, so I am ALONE for a couple of hours.
The mess from the grandkids (toys everywhere) has not been cleaned up, and I am ignoring it. It can be tomorrow's issue.
It has been a very rough week. Shane would know exactly what to do about the roof... He and I replaced it prior... I cannot even begin to think that I can handle that task without him here. On top of it all... my leg is just so painful right now, and has been for quite some time. It is getting worse. Not sure if I overdid it, or if the plate and screws popped loose a bit (that had been a concern since having them put in because they were not certain my bones would hold the screws... I break easily). Ugghhh... I just need to shut everything out for a few days and deal with it later.

It's scary to me that you're on a roof.
I have a two year old grandson. I love him with all my heart, but chasing him around is exhausting! How do you handle two of them?
Tell your kids you need a break.
If you don't take care of yourself you won't be in any condition to take care of anyone else.
