Wendy - I can relate. I was never a numbers person but now the 6th of every month is just overwhelming. It's been 20 months (but who is counting) and every time the calendar comes to the sixth, I have a very difficult day. It's like a reminder that time goes on but the pain still remains. We go on with our lives, but a day doesn't go by when we don't miss the life that we had and wish had never ended. Best, Jude

I completely understand. I am a "numbers" person...and when the 24th of the month arrives I find myself thinking "It has been X # of months"

To compound matters the 24th of this month is not only Easter but my 51st birthday.

Planning a family celebration...our youngest grandson turns 1 on the 22nd...so we are having two birthdays and Easter on Sunday.

I look at it in a positive way. The 4th of every month represents another month I have survived and gotten a little better, a little happier, and little stronger.

YA know I think in that instant I am lucky, as when Feb being a short month I started thinking of the number of days he has been gone, every 31st of each month was a bad number but because the number of days are messed up since so many months are short I am not a numbers (mathematics person) I now do not dwell on any rightful no of days gone - just a basic 8 1/2 months about. I do think it makes it easier on your heart....not having that thought. Anyway I take what ever little thing makes it a little easier when I can....

While legally it was the 20th of January when he passed, for me it is the 19th. We kept his life support on until his daughter got here to see him and it was just 5 minutes after midnight when it was turned off. I last saw him on the 19th but I could tell he was no longer in his body. So today is 3 months and I am doing as much physical labor as I can to stave off the sorrow.

I know exactly what you mean Wendy. It was just over a year for me that on the 6th or 7th of the month I realized that I had not remembered the "4th" as the date each month that Mike had died. I took it as a sign of moving on and not having to dwell on the dates every month.

It's the third of every month for me. And every Saturday. Still. I even calculate the days he's been gone. It's been 9 months.
I actually went down to the river where his ashes were scattered, lit a candle and said some prayers on the third of this month.
I don't think I'll ever change in this way.
