I have often heard that "when feathers appear, angels are near."  

When Steve was sick, he slept in the recliner in the living room (because he couldn't breathe well laying flat on the bed) and I slept beside him in my own recliner (because I couldn't hear him from the bedroom).  After he died, I started sleeping in the bedroom again.  For the first few weeks after his death I noticed feathers on the floor almost every morning but since one of the pillows on the bed is a feather pillow, I didn't think too much of it.

Yesterday I found a feather in the hall just outside the bedroom door, the same type of small feather that comes from the pillow.  I wondered idly why I don't find them as often as I did after he died and also concluded that finding feathers in he vicinity of a feather pillow is hardly a mystery.  I also thought that if I found a different type of feather, well, that might be a different story.

Shortly after, I went on my daily walk (it's about a mile).  On the way back, in my path was.........you guessed it.  A feather.  This one looked nothing like the ones that come from my pillow.  It was at least 10 times bigger, white and fluffy.  It appeared at exactly the right time.  I believe that Steve is still with me, just in a different way now.
