I have never written anything like a poem. I hated all the writing i had to do in college, really hated it. Having said that some little voice kept telling me to write this. I have been trying harder to listen to those "little voices" more lately so here goes:

Hearts

Two separate hearts became one
Beating together for 40 years
Through thick and thin times
Through happy and sad times
Always together, never separate
Now one remains
Still beating
Still beating for two
