Hi all. I have not been around for a while because of some of the reasons I put in an earlier post. I wanted to share something good for a change. A few weeks ago I received a condolence card from an old friend of my husband's. They had know each other since they were pre teens and stayed in touch on and off over the years and I had met him a handful of times and we had all gone out to eat and down the shore a few times some years back but lately they had lost touch. I sent him a text thanking him for the card and for his offers of any assistance and we started to communicate by text and phone calls. We have swapped many stories about my husband and I found with him i could do it without tears. Then i was offered free last minute concert tickets to Peter Frampton (those of you in their late 50's like me will probably remember him) so with no one else i could think to ask to go along i texted this friend he was happy to go. We grabbed a bite to eat first and had a drink then enjoyed the concert. We continue to stay in touch with texts and calls and he is a great person with a good heart and he makes me laugh. I was over his house yesterday (lives in the same town as me it turns out) and we along with his tenant who was an old friend of my husband's as well watched football and then he cooked me dinner. We are going out to eat this weekend. He understands I am only looking for friendship at this time and he is fine with that and we just really click and enjoy each other's company. He has really brought some light to my dark world with his kindness and caring and sense of humor. I am really blessed to have reconnected with him at this dark time in my life.
