How is everyone doing today?
It feels odd to me to know that I am still moving, still feeling, still living without Meredith here. I have learned much about myself and our kids in the nearly 2 months she has been gone.
Life is back to it's everyday faster than the last pace and the world did not brake for me to breakdown. So I have figured out how to keep moving in this crazy world till I see her again.
I may not comment a lot but I check in every night to see what is going on and what I can learn from your posts. So I just want to say Hi to those who have been there with me these last two months and Welcome to all new members of our unfortunate club.
I know welcome sounds so weird but you all made me feel welcome and safe when my world collapsed in January. So to all new members please ask us, lean on us, read the posts and don't be afraid to speak up. We are here for each other and it is a great group of wonderful caring people. Our circumstances have brought us here it is our choice what we make of the new lives we have.

Old Hillbilly Wisdom:Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong.Keep skunks, bankers, and politicians at a distance.Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.Words that soak into your ears are whispered, not yelled. The best sermons are lived, not preached. If you don't take the time to do it right, you'll find the...

I agree with you. It does still feel unnatural to continue without my Lyn who went home last August. And you are definitely right you will see your wife again as will all of us see those who went home at their time. Don't know if I should or not but I have come to depend upon the feedback and discussions that take place here and draw strength from it. I wrote in my first post how much I appreciated folks taking that leap of faith and putting their feelings and emotions out there basically in front of a bunch of strangers not knowing what they may get back. Everyone so far has been extremely respectful and compassionate in their responses. My prayer is that we can all find our balance some day and peace to go with it. Take care.
Peace, Tim
I am at 13 months and I post every so often to not only get out my feelings but to try and help the new souls who are just starting this awful chapter in their lives. I know how scared and alone I was when I joined this group, desperately searching for some semblance of sanity because I thought I was losing mine.
I feel obligated to try and help those who are in my boat if I can as those who have come before me have immensely helped me. Keep fighting the good fight and peace to you all. ~Pete
I would have thought that EVERYTHING STOPPED the day Morey died! At times, I would have preferred it! I wished that EVERYTHING would just stop. Isn't the world hurting as I'm hurting? Nope, it all just keeps going!
Time passes, the fissures in our hearts are healing, the tears and sadness seems to be relegated to certain triggers or times of the day and [thank goodness] they don't last as long as they used to.
I can smile and laugh and not feel guilty for doing so. I can look at a picture of Morey and not break into a sobbing mess that wants to be swallowed up by the floor!
Each day that passes [and sometimes they pass at lightening speed], I find myself able to think more clearly.
I still can't read a book or magazine.....for some reason the written word has become impossible for me to focus on. And, I was an avid reader.
I'll give this time......Because, if nothing else, grieving the loss of my mate has taught me to be more patient and kind with self!!!!!
