my husband just passed away 6 weeks ago and I'm feeling so hopeless and alone. Being with friends seems to make me cry even more- so I feel like just sitting home alone but that doesn't help either. What do other people do and does this ever get better?

I just found his place a few days ago and it gives me hope. I wake up each day thankful for the time that I did get to spend with Johnny, and thankful that God gave another day to try to be a blessing to others,, I hope that you will think of me as a friend and it will be easier since we don't actually know each other, but each know how the other feels. I will pray for you. I hope you get to being better just a moment at a time.
Sometimes I tell myself that I can't do this one day at a time, to me just moments at a time work better. What ever works, just don't feel alone. Debbie
The days passed and eventually I got up and started doing little things like keeping my house clean, working in my yard and walking. A little at a time because grieving is exhausting. Don't rush yourself.
You will eventually have some better days along with the hard days. People who have been here longer than I have assure me it does get better, and I believe them.
I'm so sorry about your husband. We all understand your pain and we're all here for you.

It is now 16months & as time has gone bye, it has eased somewhat.
The big void will always be there & I do believe you just have to
draw strength from yourself & know that you husband would not want you to be sad.
Take care JoAnn
The tears will come, the pain will seem as if it's everywhere, in everything.
I still tear-up and long for my man and it's been over 2 years. Give yourself time. Be kind to you!
Warmly,
Roz
