Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

Hope y'all understand, at least somewhat.
My wife died in May 2013 after a 10 year fight with cancer. My daughter was killed in an auto accident 17 years ago when she was 17. I was lucky to find this site three months after my wife died so I found it very helpful for suggestions and friendship.
Hopefully you have made it through the rough parts already.
Bob
I am sorry for your loss. My husband died suddenly, unexpectedly on June 22, 2013. He was 42. I usually just say 'died' unless I feel the person I am talking to is upset and then I say 'passed'. The sad truth is he died so that is what I say.
Hugs to you.

The fact remains that my husband died. This site has been very supportive and helpful to me. I would not be where I am today but for the support of my friends on DS.
Welcome to this group. All the best.
It took me some time before I could say "My husband died". However, I didn't like to say "I lost my husband." After all, I did not LOSE Nick. I knew just where he was. I hadn't misplaced him
Many wishes to you for peace in your heart, emotional comfort and strength to face the challenges of each new day.
This group has helped me so much.

I had major problems with that one.
My newest hurdle involves a class where I am not allowed to use the optional words to describe my loss. Do I leave blanks?
