Paula you are an inspiration to me - a very strong woman. You manage to share your life with us, and I'm glad that you are noting this day. All memories both good and bad are treasures and the fabric of your life. We grow and learn from it all. I am sure that happy days are ahead.......something to celebrate......with CAKE???? Just asking.

Paula I'm glad you are remembering this VERY SPECIAL day in both of yours lives that changed it forever. I know that the day he left was another change your entire life and being day, but on a different acale completely. I hope that remembering this day has you smiling at the memories of two young people just starting their life together, and when you go over those years together you see all the beauty in those years. I know for me i was married to Greg as long as you, but have many more of the tender beautiful memories than of the illness, and the end. It helps.

You are an amazing woman and one I admire. You are our there, and trying everyday. You have more bravery than I do, and I thank you for always honestly sharing of yourself.

You are so right about this being a special day. It will be as long as you live and even longer. I still celebrate in my heart my parents anniversaries and their birthdays. I think it's fine to buy flowers, bake or buy a cake and make it special. This day will never be "just like any other day" and it shouldn't be! Be proud! Celebrate!

Happy Anniversary. I will be having my 30th anniversary on Saturday. No matter what else happens in our lives these special dates will ways live in our hearts.

You were so young when you got married ( me too, though), and so lucky to have found your soul mate at a young age. Some people never find their soul mate or they find them so late in life. You are blessed to have had the time you had together. Happy Anniversary!

I was lucky in love too. I was able to keep my girl for 41 years 2 months and 1 week. I have great memories but I find it painful to remember as she is gone.
We married in haste--no not shotgun haste--and I have no regrets even in my current leisure. She was the largest part of my life and learning to get along without out just isn't going that well but I am able to both remember her and continue with what the rest of my life has become.
I would love to share with someone else as I did with her but that is highly unlikely but could happen. I must not forget how unlikely it was for the two of us to meet and fall in love. Lightning could strike twice.
Hope you find that lighting stirkes twice for for you. I know that we have an infinite capacity to Love and it does not diminish those we already love.
