I am into five months without my sweet husband and am doing pretty good. This is a hard time of year for all of us but I am trying to be positive and do what he would want me to do knowing how much I loved Christmas. I miss him terribly but am going to enjoy with family and his sweet spirit will be with us. Wishing everyone on this site best Christmas you can have. GOD BLESS EACH OF YOU!

Same here Deb, 8.5 months and am going to make the best of the holiday,,,I owe it to our families. I know that is what will make him happy. I however will have my moments no doubt. My first Christmas without him. Gotta get thru this.

Like you Debrus, it's now five months. Though Jo's ovarian cancer fight lasted three years. Yes, this time of year brings up a lot of thoughts of things past. Got the tree up and will cook for her and my kids Christmas eve, as usual. Other than that, it will not be Christmas as usual. Christmas day was just our day together.

Christmas will never be the same for me but I think no matter how painful we should remember the true meaning of the season. Even if you are not religious this time of year to me is for thinking, caring and giving to others especially those in need.
My hope is that all of you have the best Christmas possible and let's all hope for a better New Year. ~Pete

Dear Debrus, Thank you for your sweet, thoughtful, heartfelt Christmas wishes here. Yes, we can only remember the sweet memories of our Christmas celebrations of the past years together, and besides, it is a happy season for America. I will just be by myself for Christmas this years, thinking of all the happy memories way, way back to when my daughter was very young. I'm happy to just be healthy and alive.
