I mowed the lawn... It really should have been done a few days ago, but I have been putting it off. We have a very large yard, and Shane always made it look wonderful... he was a fanatic about it. My criteria lately seems to be, "it needs to be mowed so that the snakes don't congregate here" and that is all.
I have been unable to do trimming/edging for a couple of months because I foolishly let someone borrow my weed whip for the weekend... over two months ago. I have asked for it back... but I get the impression that it is broken and they are afraid to tell me. So... tomorrow (I hope) I will motivate myself to go purchase a new one, despite the fact that Shane had just purchased that one last fall. And from here on.... I will no longer be loaning things out.
I also contacted the mechanic who has had my money and the motor for my Cherokee since mid January. I paid him in advance to essentially rebuild the motor. To date, he has done nothing. I had to leave a message, but I told him that early next week I would be in to collect my money and my motor and would be having someone else do the work. Fed up. I feel like people think they can cheat, manipulate, and take advantage of me since Shane is not here. I may not be a mechanic myself, but I think it is a bit insane to think that in nearly 7 months NOTHING has been done.

Well, needless to say the guy loved having a place to live, near Lake Casitas, the mountains and the beach. However, he didn't like doing the work and thought Morey won't see how much he let things go.
When Morey got ill my son and I took a ride up and couldn't believe how much the groundskeeper had let things go. I made up my mind then that it was time to sell.
I think what you're doing and accomplishing since Shane has passed is amazing. I give you a lot of credit for being so "hands on!"
