One day at a time, one moment at a time if need be. You're in the very early days, and they are the hardest - it will start to ease up a bit. In the meantime, try to eat at least one healthy meal a day, drink extra water to help combat the dehydration from all the crying. You're probably not sleeping much either, so try a cup of chamomile tea before bed - you can get that in the supermarket, "Sleepy Time" is one version of it - it won't hurt you, just help you calm down enough to sleep some. If that doesn't work, you can try a Benadryl or Tylenol PM - they have the same ingredient which makes you drowsy.

I am sorry for your loss, and I know how hard these times are. You can get through them. It will take some time and effort, but you won't have to go it alone.

I don't know if we are allowed to recommend remedies, but will try. I have found "Rescue Remedy" by the Bach flower remedies to be pretty helpful. Nothing will take it away completely. Time will help but you have to go through this to get to the more peaceful state. Stop by this site often. People always ready to listen and give help. AZ hugs. Darlene

If it's practical, I find going for a daily walk helps. Also, don't forget that medication can help. That was one of the first things I realized I needed. (((hug)))

Jen.....I take Ativan......there are times that anxiety stopped me cold in my tracks....could do nothing. The Doc gave me Ativan and it does help some.

Jen, I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a spouse is devastating at any age,but you are so young. Please come to this site often - vent and don't worry about making sense. It will soon be one year since my husband died and I haven't written on this site for awhile, but I read. In the early days of my loss, I was here numerous times a day - it was one of the strongest life-lines I had. We are all here for you.

Like coffeeforme I too used to be here all day everyday in the early months of loss. At almost 9 months I come here and read but don't post as often. My thoughts and feelings are changing. Still a roller coaster most days but it has gotten more real now. Use this site and the group of really wonderful supportive people here to get you through the raw grief. We have all been there. Jen, I remember well that horrible anxiety and fear of the early days. I spent some days carrying my "valuables" around with me as I was fearful of my home being robbed while I was out. Carried my phone with me in case I fell over and needed to call for help (I wasn't physically frail). Feared every phone call as being more bad news. Was anxious about ... well ... everything. And I went back to my stress dreams from high school (exams I hadn't studied for, bills I hadn't paid, etc etc)
It got better over time. Little by little.
