Hi All,
My name is Linda, "Lin" to most. I just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to this site. In the few days that I have been sigining on, I have found all of your messages to be very helpful. I lost my husband Michael "Mike" November 14, 2012. Mike was diagnosed with tonsil cancer in June 2009 and it metasasized to his mediastinum. He was one of the strongest men I have ever known, for 3.5 years, never giving in to this horrible disease. On treatment days, he would go to Radiation, Work and then Chemo on the way home. He only stopped working 3 weeks before he passed. We thought he was retiring to enjoy the rest of his days doing some traveling and enjoying our 11 grandchildren. The Doctors had said there wasn't much change in his scans and we weren't there yet. But God had other plans for Mike. I truly believe that Mike left this earth the way he wanted to. He was home with hospice and able to be up and even outside on our deck until just two days before he passed. As you all are so painfully aware from your own experiences, I can't begin to say how much I miss him. And it is more so every day, because I think it is finally beginning to sink in that he is NOT ever going to be walking back through the door. I keep telling myself that I am an intelligent, strong woman, so why can't I wrap my head around this. Ours was a second marriage for both of us and Mike was the driving force behind everything that I accomplished since we met. His belief that I could do anything is what pushed me on. During one of our last conversations, he asked me "are you OK with this"...I promised him I would be ok, so that is what I strive for everyday, but this is one of the hardest promises I have ever had to keep. I look forward you getting to know you all and hopefully to being each others strength.

I am sorry for your loss. My husband passed the end of Oct. 2012, so I know the shoes you're walking in. I have found this site very helpful, also I belong to a "real life" support group which has also been great. Sending you love and support...Paula
I am Lucy and I lost my husband, Don to cancer too. I am sorry to meet here on a site where no one wants to become a member. That being said, I am so happy to have found it because the lovely people here have helped me so much. Just reading their stories and seeing that we all go through the same emotions and grief makes me feel less alone. So welcome, there is always someone on here who understands and who will be here to talk when you need to,
