I am having such a hard time this weekend. Tomorrow will be 7 months and I thought I was doing pretty well. But yesterday and today I am feeling so lost and lonely. I don't know where this overwhelmng saddness came from. I've gotten through the holidays, his birthday and our anniversary and even though those where hard today has been even harder and I don't know where this came from.
I guess it's just this thing called grief and we never know when it will affect us.
I know that part of it is the beginning of summer and remembering that last summer was the last summer I got to spend with my husband. I didn't know at the time it would be the last, but it was our favorite time of year and I know that we spent every moment enjoying it.
How do I get through this without him?

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

all I can say is that yes, grief does come back and it's a bumpy road but you will get through it, just take it one day at a time.
Beware..... there are more hard months ahead, it just doesn't go away, it pops its ugly head up when you don't expect it.
The spring an summer are hard for me since its nice out and we should be doing things together. There is just no good time really.
It will get a bit easier as time goes by but It's a long hard road.

This year I will not be going camping. I may go for a day visit if my step daughter goes to the camp ground we loved to go to. I will find it too difficult to actually camp alone.
I really thought I would be farther along, but still I am here with such a heavy heart. I am just trying to to focus on what others have told me, that it takes time, and it is a roller coaster. How do we get through this without them??
I am starting to think we don't. Maybe we have to get through this with them. I have been trying my best to "get on" with life, and pushing memories away as they seem to bring more pain. But maybe we should let the memories come, and just cry, scream, or what ever. Maybe if we let the memories guide us, the pain will begin to lessen.
I don't know, I don't know much of anything any more. I guess this is just the ramblings of an old widow....
