I can't believe it's 18 months since I last saw him, held him, and kissed him goodbye! It seems like yesterday and forever ago, if that makes any sense. It is also 2 years ago, this Independence Day weekend that was the last "normal" weekend of our lives. We went to the doctor on Monday because I thought my husband was dehydrated, ended up in the ER--then admitted to the hospital, only to learn on Tuesday that he had a tumor on his pancreas. That was the beginning of the end... I am alone all weekend and feeling very sad, but trying to stay busy and to be grateful for the 41+ years we had together and for our beautiful family. Thanks for being here and for listening.

I understand, Nancy. Almost the one year mark for me. I've been feeling sad today, too.
My life is so different now. But, I'm grateful for the 34 years that I was his wife.

been a weekend of bad memories for me too this weekend, thankfully wasnt as bad as i had anticipated - not good but not as bad as my imagination. hugs to you both

Nancy..almost 4 years ago did the exact same thing. Took him to an ER on a Monday after a normal weekend. He played in a VB league w/our kids even stayed after for hot wings and beer while I worked my weekend (RN). We were also told on a Tuesday he had pancreatic cancer with mets by Sunday he was gone !! Yes... gratitude for 33 years of marriage and 4 wonderful children and now 3 grandies. Two years ago on Independence Day I worked my last shift and then took early retirement and have NOT looked back... was also about then I found this site. Silver linings to everything :) God hold us !
