Today would be my husbands 6 week Doctor visit after having heart surgery. 6 weeks and he would have been able to drive and start some light excercises. Before his surgery we talked alot about what we'd do when he was better again., 6 weeks a lot of improvement then at 3 mo. he'd be his old self again able to do most everything he did when he was healthy.

I sure wasn't looking forward to 6 weeks of winter with him recoperating, no sun and he wasn't very good at sitting still. A husband who if he didn't get enough sun was a bear..who questioned anything a Dr. told him, a husband who was an only child with a mom who had lived to spoil her son.
Oh life for me whould have been hard and busy..

Oh how I would love to be in that situation now instead of a new widow.

Thinking about then and now. I wonder if people in committed relationships should be made to read posts on DS Widows and Widowers. Would they realize what they have and how much they'd miss it if their partner died?

Loosing Ray sure has opened my eyes to what a wonderful husband he was, how much he spoiled me. I never knew how deeply I love him and really didn't appreciate what a blessed and wonderful life we had.
