Hello everyone some of you know me i have been here for about 15 months i lost my wife Cindy 18 months .the first few months was like a bad dream then everything started to sink in that Cindy wasnt coming back ,so i started looking for someone to talk to i even join about 8 dating sites just to find someone to talk to the emptiness and being lonely was driving me crazy ...but i didnt find anyone until i found this site i dont know how i found this site but i did .and i found many good people here that helped some here who i thought was way out there but to each their own ..
i started out just reading other peoples dicussions and that help i then joined in and that helped so if there is anyone out there new who hasnt started joining in feel free to we all have and are still going through what you are going through ...i then got on and vented when i felt i needed to .i did write a few discussions about different things .i did make some good friends people who i could talk to without them looking at me as if i was going crazy ...
i made one post about helping someone else and my new love Wendy asked me to be her friend that was back in december of last year .we start chatting online on this site she has helped me as much as i have helped her i am how living with her in australia ... i just wanted to thank everyone on this site and the site its self for all the help i have gotten and i will be here when others need me ....take care of yourselves and best wishes

Scott...I have never had much faith in on line dating but I am glad tosee it has worked for someone. Although moving to another place and living with someone is not my cup of tea, I am glad you have found happiness. That is what is important to you.

Congratulation to you and your new partner.

I am currently going through the early parts of this new journey as my wife passed on 9/20. I have the emptiness and loneliness right now and my head tells me I'll never be with anyone again. I can only hope it passes.

We didnt met on a dating site we meant here on DS Wendy lost her husband one month before i lost my wife ....when i was early into my journey I never thought I would every want to be with anyone again let alone moving to the other side of the world to be with that person .but after the last 18 months i learned that life is to short not to take a chance and try to be happy again ...Dawn its good to hear from you and to see that you have a green smile on your profile it looks like its getting better for one second at a time or is it now one day at a time ... just remember we all heal at a different rate but we will never forget the person we lost our husband or wife , sorry or partner was the most important person in our lives .but we owe it to them to be as happy as we can and live our lifes the best we know how .....as for hoping it passes it does at first all you can think about when you are trying to do things is what would they as for me Cindy think about that or would she enjoy this ...then before you know it life does start getting better .and that sad but at the same time its not sad because we cant keep living feeling so bad and sad all the time just take care and heal at your own pace ....it your life not anyone else and you live it as you want just take care ......scott

Well said Scott. I am so glad you have found happiness again. I pretty much feel the same way, I owe it to my late wife to find love and happiness again.....and I will when the time is right. May you and Wendy have a blessed life together!

I am so happy for you and Wendy. This is a very difficult journey and it is so nice to read about people who find happiness again.

I have many relatives in Australia (most of my mom's side of the family live there).
