Hello All-
I'm 44 and my husband of 7 years (friend for over 25) died last month.
2014 has been a rough year. I lost my Mom the morning of my uncle's funeral and a life long friend as well as my husband.
I think I'm doing OK so far, just trying to take care of business. I have alot of friends and family that I can call on for just about anything.
I'm joining because I'm sure there will be times that my friends and family just won't quite get what I'm feeling or asking and I'm hoping to learn from all of you as well as offer any support I can.

Tracy - so sorry about the loss of your husband, as well as all the other loved ones you have lost recently. The sorrows in life seem unrelenting at times, and this makes us wonder how we can go on. I am so glad that you have a good support group, and you will also find one here at DS. People who haven't been widowed don't always understand the depth of our loss and the time it takes to get through the grief. DS members understand, and will share their feelings and encouragement with you when you need it.

I lost my husband on Nov. 9. The first 2 months I was in a fog and I thought it would get easier. Now reality is setting in and I cry more than before because I can't see enjoying life alone. We had been married 37 years.

I am so glad you are here. You will find reading the many posts comforting, knowing others understand how you feel.

Now that it has been almost 3 months since I lost Al, I feel my friends don't want to hear me cry, don't want to hear me relive the last 6 months with his cancer and only want me to be happy like I was before. So I find myself withdrawing into my own little world. Thank goodness for everyone here.
