Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

The walking will help as I am planning a trip to Disney with my daughter in October, walking a must to get around there.
I do crafts - I have a number of artsy-fartsy and artsy-craftsy hobbies. It always help still my thoughts to be concentrating on something creative, and I feel stronger and better after I have made something. Currently I have two embroidery projects going - one by hand and one by machine. My Mom taught me hand sewing when I was 4, embroidery when I was about 8, and machine stitching at about 10, so it has been a safe place to go back to when I get stressed. All 3 of my sisters are the same way, too.
After Cliff died, I also found that those things that I had done before I knew him did not bring on the same kind of pain as those things that either I learned while I was with him or that we did together. It was the same thing with music - if it was a band I listened to in the old old old days before we met, no problem. Anything we shared - brought on a deluge of tears.
Good post!
Love and Hugs,
Martha
Thank you for posting the link. Maybe, just maybe I can see through the fog. I KNOW what I need and should be doing but that kick start is a lot tougher these days.
