One of my biggest fears was being alone and sick. This fear was so strong that I purchased one of those medical alert devices. Well, this week it happened : I got sick. I was so sick that I couldn't even go out. I lay in bed thinking of how my husband would have gone out to get me medicine and food. Now I was alone. I realized I could die and no one would no for days.

Then I asked God for help. I recalled reading that he would never leave me. I recalled reading that we should not worry, that the birds of the air are feed.

What k had may have been thus flu. Ive had pneumonia three times so this is dangerous for me. My throat was hurting and I couldn't stop couhping. I didn't have anything in the house to treat it, or so I thought. Then I remembered that I had fresh lemons in the refridgerator, purchased just days before for a pie I 'd been looking for that I suddenly found. Later I looked for some tea on a shelf and found throat lozenges. Finally I sat on my sofa sipping tea thankful to God for all he provided. I was amazed that along with the lemons I 'd also purchased chicken soup. But the biggest surprise came later as I sat on the sofa. I could hear the congestion and it frightened me. I prayed hard asking for one more thing that could help me feel better. And less than five minutes later I thought maybe something hot and spicy would work. I went to my kitchen, pulled out the red pepper and out popped some medication for congestion and coughs formulated for people with high blood pressure.

Of course I 'd purchased this months ago and forgotten about it. But here's the strange thing about it --I only sneeze when I have a cold. Im never congested like I was this time. So in other words, I was directed by God because He knew before I did what I would need and when I would need it.


And for that I thank Him. I'm now free of my illness and free of my fear. I will never be alone.
