You can do it , just go squish that bug! I was at the store the other day and the girl behind the counter looked terrified. I asked what was wrong.

She said there was a spider on the wall. So I squished it for her

I'm right there with you on this one. Steve was my "exterminator" of pests--spiders, the occasional water bug, wasps that made it in the door, june bugs in the summer. He knew I hated bugs so if something showed up inside he was like lightening and it was gone. I miss that--I've had to force myself to kill a couple of spiders since he's been gone and it wasn't easy. If I were you I would call an exterminator and give yourself some peace of mind. Hugs

Go get a roach/bug bomb and set it off in there. Leave the house for most of the day then let it air out. What creeps me out is hearing mice in the walls. I don't know what to do about that other then setting bait out under the house.
As for sleep, I take a 1/2 dose of NyQuil at night and that does the trick for me.

I understand your fear completely. I am dreading the moment when I see a bat in the house--I'll probably scream myself to death. Neil always caught them in his fishing net, and released them outside. I just stayed huddled under the comforter, waiting for him to say that everything was safe... I feel so vulnerable now, and don't know how to deal with those fears. Take care, and I hope the bugs just leave you alone.

No, No, i sorry, just kidding again. Really. OK, roaches are really disgusting so you should call an exterminator to treat your unit. Townhouses are attached, so if one unit gets them well, you may see em around. An exterminator will treat your unit so that they'll die before they get in, usually they'll come every month or so to upkeep the treatment.

Funny Sal. Can you believe ive got cotton in my ears. I put it in the moment I saw the critter. I cant believe I'm afraid of a bug.

I'm from Florida and most of us are hardened roach killing veterans. I used to be terrified of them but when Roger became so ill that he couldn't walk much less kill a bug, it fell to me. I have a "bug guy" visit every other month and he sprays all around outside and that keeps the little buggers out.......for the most part. I still see one now and then but I smash it and go on my way. You can't let it get to you. Call an exterminator and then you can get some rest.

My bit of terror is mice. Something my husband always took care of, and being in a rural area it is always an issue.
Orkin Pest Control has done excellent with this. They also treat a perimeter so I have only seen one mouse in the house since they began two years ago.

Oh the mouse thing......I was so afraid of mice I would run and stand on top of the bed in the other room. Now that Jim is gone to be my big protector I have trapped and killed three mice. I live in the country and they come with the territory. I am also good at killing all bugs. Now I just gotta figure out a way to get that squirrel from digging out my petunias....I think I will put one of those pinwheels in the bucket with the flowers...hope it scares that squirrel.

Thanks, everyone for making me feel better. Still no sleep but I did call Orkin and purchased a few traps. I've also been told that that borax will work, so I'll buy that after Orkin leaves. I want them dead. The darn things have ruined my appetite.

You want them dead? I should have mentioned they taste much better alive. Couple of drops of Tabasco and they don't move around as much going down, guess it sedates them somewhat.

Do you have a dog or cat?? Be careful what you put down, it can make you pet very sick or die.
