Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
No, grief is not something that somebody can say...that at this day, or that day, I'm going to be better.
You still need some time with all this. Just like you can't dictate how a cut or scrape would heal, you can't dictate how your emotions will heal when this type of thing happens.
Drink lots of water...you get a wicked headache from crying...and those horrible puffy eyes...I so get it.
Hope you're feeling a little better.

I just know for some reason I have been really cryie (if there is not such a word there is now) yesterday all day and evening. somewhat this am but I have been going going going doing things.
I am just so fearful I won't make it for some reason when I felt so good before. I want time to go and go and go...
Thinking of you, hugs Lu Ann
Instead of crying I would go and do something active. Gardening, going for a walk with the twins anything but crying.
I had a full time job when Ruth died but if I had been retired or had been a stay at home mum I would have gone out and found a job. Paid or unpaid. Anything but the cycle of crying, crying and crying.
Are you still working with a counselor? I hope you are, you've got so much that you're trying to contend with. I understand - I kept thinking if one more person tells me 'God never gives you more than you can bear' then I'm going to explode, because I felt so completely overwhelmed and beyond my limits.
I won't lie and say this is an easy thing to get through - it's not easy. But it is possible. It's going to take multiple things to get through it though. Crying is one of them. Venting here is another.
We can give book recommendations if you're a reader (not everyone is) which might help, too.
Everybody's journey is a little different, and what works for one won't necessarily work for another, but the thing is to keep trying. Eventually you do feel better and will be glad you didn't give up.
I hope today is a better day for you. Love and Hugs, Martha
