A broken heart hasn't killed me, although many days I wish it had. I still find it difficult to comprehend a future. I don't want to make new memories without Glenda and I don't want the so called "new life" lived by the so called "new me". I continue living a "Catch 22" which is an empty and forlorn existence when many times I just want to leave this existence to the living.Those that are truly living. I always thought I would go first, and it is a cosmic joke that Glenda's mother is still alive at nearly ninety and in reasonably good health. Glenda's social personality would have equipped her far better for this journey. If I could be granted a wish, it would be that we could trade places.

there is no sense you can make of this. live on muscle memory, roll with the punches, numb your pain in anyway that works for you. jean is gone 14 months, i find some relief in alchohol and marijuana, but i have nowhere to be or go so it hurts no one

Rick: Ten weeks is still so early. I remember counting the weeks. Never imagined, or didn't want to imagine getting to Years. I am at 2 years 3 1/2 months. I just don't look too far ahead. Just enough to plan activities and vacations to get me through to the next event. I'm fortunate that I have a job that consumes me and spend so much time with people all day. I also have several single friends and it helps. I still miss my husband all the time but yea, life doesn't have the meaning and purpose it used to. BUT I get up each day and do find moments of joy. Hope you find some peace today within your soul. Marybeth

It will be 9 weeks on my husbands birthday which is tomorrow. I feel everything you are saying. I think it is still too raw and new. I pray that in time I will attempt to return to the land of the living in some respects. I know I will miss him forever as you will miss your beloved wife. I just joined this group in hopes that my feelings aren't unique to me. As I read your post I realized that indeed they are felt by others going thru this horrific time in our lives. Praying for all of us to find some comfort and peace. Hope today is not as hard for you.
