I was kicking myself today, wondering why I have such a tough time on Sundays. The other 6 are still a struggle, but what is it about Sunday. I realized today, that there was always the business of day to day life throughout the rest of the week. It was routine for me to work between 50-60 hours per week. Sharry, worked long hours too, before she was finally home with us at night, a couple of years before she was taken.
Saturday late afternoon through Sunday was ours together, all 3 of us. In just short of 25 years, we had by my count 1292 consecutive Sundays to be with each other, also with family and friends, but, always together.
So, I guess the sinking feeling I have as I wake on Sunday, and the minor relief as the sun sets, really isn't all that surprising. I wonder how many it will take to make this particular day lighter, and the memories comforting, instead of painful. Thanks for listening, and I hope you all are having a better day.

I don't know if this will help but I understand and your post helped me realize why today had been unusually difficult. Sundays were always our day too. We would start the day at church and then if we did have something we needed to do, we would do it together. Rainy or snowy sundays were the best. We would leave the curtains shut, turn off the phones, computers, etc. and have a day when no one else exsisted but the two of us and our fur children. Somehow, with the fog and confusion over the past few months I had forgotten those special days. Today I woke up to the sound of rain and wasn't sure I would make it through but I have. I hope you have too and will soon be able to enjoy your special sunday memories.

I saw the play wih Billy Crystal 700 Sundays, loved the conept, love how you use it. Sundays are rough, I sat with my hubbys arm around me in church on Sundays, now alone. I try to stay busy is the only thing that helps, friends, gkids, kids, today I went to a play after church. It always helps me to read others going thru the same feelings, I don't feel quite so alone.

Our life was like that too. My hubby worked long hours during the weekdays, and I was always looked forward to the weekends. Sundays was a day for quality family time.

Then the kids grew up and went their own way, but Sunday remained "family time" in my heart. Even now, Sundays is a day for rest and enjoyment. Since I am alone now, I find myself either bored or a bit lost. It is so hard to break a routine of life, which one lived for years. I too, must find something, to fill my Sundays with. Thank goodness for this DS site.

For me it's Friday and Saturday. I'd rather work then have those days off.

I think everyone has a special time that is a little harder than the rest :) I hope sundays can become brighter for you. maybe you can make a new ritual on sundays for you and your son? my hardest time is bedtime...just getting to hang out after the kids go sleep and have my best friend to talk too...so that's when I do my computer surfing or cleaning. have a nice rest of your week.

yes, Sundays are the hardest. I can hear a pin drop in my house. It is excruciating. A widow friend says she leaves all her housework for Sundays so she keeps extra busy. I found a support group meeting on Sunday and I find it helpful. They picked Sunday because they know it is the hardest day to get through. I think there should be a Sunday widow/widower club!

I find Sunday very hard as well. Every Sunday we would go for a drive along the lake shore and check out the wild life, etc. Then for Sunday dinner at a local restaurant. I lost my fur baby (cat) 10/28/13 which makes my place very empty. I usually end up at the library on Sunday afternoon and check out some books or magazines just to get out.
