Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

Somebody here once wrote, "Strong is what you are when strong is your only choice." I think we've both been in that position.
Cliff was a recovering alcoholic - clean and sober 20 years when he died. He really got sober for our son's sake. He loved being a Dad. To him, it was worth it to stay sober because of that more than anything.
When Cliff died, oddly one of the things that took on a whole new meaning for me was the Serenity Prayer. Just as it helped him with his sobriety, it gave me strength to cope when he died.
You'll be all right. Don't give up.

Martha
The serenity prayer is very helpful. I say that to myself when I am having a really hard day. Been saying that a lot lately.
Love and Hugs to you as well! Have a great weekend!
