"There are no words" is a sentiment I have heard countless times since my wife's sudden and unexpected death three weeks ago. She was only 53 and had cancer that had spread throughout her body and into her lungs. She displayed no symptoms until she had a cough at the very end. She died while being tested for cancer.

I am confident in her eternal condition. In fact, I led her to receive Jesus myself 26 years ago. I know the God will provide answers in His own time, but my grief is deep, and I am struggling. I am looking for a christian support group in my area, I think I may have found one. I don't know why I am even posting this, except that there seem to be people here that really understand. Still, understanding doesn't really change things. My wife and best friend of 29 years to the hour left this world on our anniversary day after succumbing to a cancer we didn't know she had. She did not suffer, and for that I am very grateful. I am so happy for her to be where she is, and so devastated to have to move forward without her. There really are "No words" to describe the pain, but I know I am preaching to the chior.

I am so sorry for your loss, and understand how difficult this journey is and will be for you. God will give you the strength to walk this journey, and He will not forsake you. It has been 15 months for me, and it is by His grace that I have made it this far. You are among friends here so please come as often as you need or want. Hugs and blessings. Katrina

I read your story on the other forum. I'm glad you joined the faith group. Both groups are a source of support, for newcomers. I also joined a griefshare group, which I went to once a week. It is faith based and depending on the facilitators, it can be helpful. I was blessed to have an excellent group.
As Katrina says, come here as often as you need. There are always things that crop up, which you may need affirming. Take care.........Sandra

It will be one year tomorrow the 18th. I went to work that morning and came home five hours later to find her lifeless body in our bed without any warning at all that anything was wrong. The man I was then does not exist today. Those days were so dark it felt as though I was in a different dimension. I posted my progress in the post for new folks. It isn't intended to bring any attention to myself but for an example what God can do in you life if you let Him. Then I was figuring ways to leave this place myself. Today I am hopeful for the new life He has for me. This is nothing short of His intervention and pulling me out of those dark trenches. Just be patient with yourself. Everyone is different and heals their own way. It does help to hear form others who have felt this same kind of pain. It is different than other losses and cuts deeper than any I have felt. But by the grace of our Lord I know there is peace and hope coming for us all that believe.

Thank you so much for the replies. I pray God's healing for your struggles as well. It seems like every day brings a new set of challenges. In addition to just being close, Virginia and I did everything together, including work. A major challenge right now is that I miss her in everything I do, and at the same time I don't want to change what I do for fear of forgetting. We had planned on getting a new sofa and doing some redecorating, but now I see everything we have as ours, and while I still desire to change some things, I am not ready to trade in what was ours for what would just be mine. It feels to me like she could walk through the door any moment and I realize that it has just been a nightmare. My heart aches for that to happen. I know God is good. I trust He will sustain me through all of this. I praise Him everyday for His hand on our lives.

I am truly sorry for your loss. I also want to welcome you here as it is a place that is a little different. Yes we have all experienced the loss of a spouse but here we realize our faith is a intricate part of dealing with and healing from such a profound life change. In the darkest moments of my grief I had to lean on and be carried by God on many many occasions. We are a small group here but very supportive of one another.
