Off Topic ~ Harley

Well . . it must be "Spring" . . . the birds are gradually coming back, daffodils blooming and tulips popping up. We saw our first fly and bee last week. All good, right? Ha! Harley is back to his antics of mice catching . . more like play and release. Oh, but we can't do this outside, must bring indoors! Most don't survive, but a few do. YAK. I woke up this morning to yet another mouse . . . and you'll never believe where! (well maybe) Disgusting to say the least.

So . . back to waking up this morning, the upstairs back door blew open in the night, it was cold. I turned on the fireplace, then onto my usual routine of making coffee . . decided to turn on the oven and open the door for a little extra heat in the kitchen. For some strange reason, I looked in the oven to make sure there weren't any pans or left-overs (as there are two of us and I never know) . . . to my surprise there was a poor little mouse in there jumping around on the oven rack back and forth. Hot feet, hot feet! I think most women would have slammed the oven door and ran, eh? Instead, I couldn't get the oven shut off fast enough and I was trying to get the mouse out, as in rallying him on! He eventually crawled under (into) some hole in the bottom of the oven and I'm left to wonder if he survived or not? When D-man got up, I had him check . . no mouse to be found, so I assume he escaped. Great! Now I know we have a live mouse in the house. Harley's just la-da-da . . . little f'r. I just picked up a dead mouse last eve and had D pick up a half-dead one the day before and asked to have him put out of his misery. Oy vey!! This is about the most exciting my life has become here in MT. LOL
